The stories and beliefs we inherit from our families can shape the way we understand life, nature, and our place in the world. In Yoko’s story, a Sakura tree becomes the symbol of hope, connection, renewal, and the invisible bonds that remain with us.

Growing up far from Japan, Yoko and her sister Akemi experience their homeland through their mother’s stories, traditions, and memories. Fascinated by the Sakura tree and everything it represents, Yoko secretly buries a dried cherry blossom leaf on a hillside as a child. Years later, after losing their mother, the sisters return to the same place and discover an enormous Sakura tree blooming beneath the full moon.

This is a story about family, cultural identity, nature, loss, hope, miracles, and renewal. As an audio experience, it becomes a gentle reflection on childhood memories, spiritual connection, belonging, the cycle of life, and how the people we love can continue to live through the stories and beliefs they leave behind.
