Brought to Istanbul after losing his family in a shipwreck, Dakari grows up among soldiers despite feeling deeply disconnected from a life of weapons and fighting. Everything changes when Gurizan, a frightened wild animal brought from Africa, escapes into the city. Recognizing something of his own fear and displacement in Gurizan, Dakari follows his instincts rather than force, creating a bond between two lives separated from the world they once knew.

This is a story about belonging, empathy, loss, companionship, balance, and connection with animals.
